## System requirements

Minimum requirements for the Windows PC that runs ViRTUE and SteamVR:

**Operating system**: Windows® 10, 64 bit

**Processor**: Intel i5 5th Generation or comparable

**Memory**: 8 GB RAM

**Graphics**: GeForce GTX 1060 4 GB or comparable

**Storage**: 1 GB disk space

## VR headset with controllers

Any VR headset that is **SteamVR-compatible** and has hand controllers can be used (e.g. HTC Vive, Valve Index, Pico 4 or Ultra, Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S or Pro).

[**Pico 4 · Ultra**](https://wiki.vrhandhygiene.com/ai/en/installation/pico.md) (USB · Wi-Fi) — Standalone headset. Connection via Pico Connect (wired or wireless).

[**HTC Vive · Pro · Valve Index**](https://wiki.vrhandhygiene.com/ai/en/installation/steamvr-headsets.md) (DisplayPort) — Tethered SteamVR headsets. No additional software needed, just Steam and SteamVR.

**Valve Steam Frame** (Wi-Fi) — Streaming-first standalone headset from Valve. Streams PC-VR via Steam Link over an included Wi-Fi 6E adapter. (Expected 2026)

## Wi-Fi router

If you use a wireless connection to the VR headset (Air Link, Virtual Desktop, Steam Link, Pico Connect), we recommend a powerful Wi-Fi router.

**Standard**: Wi-Fi 6 / 802.11ax or newer

**Band**: 5 GHz

**PC connection**: Gigabit Ethernet via LAN cable (CAT5e or better)

**Line of sight**: Router placed openly in the room, less than 10 m from the headset
